The Effect of the Companies Act 2006
This is the third of our occasional company law business briefings regarding the implementation and effect of the Companies Act 2006 (“the Act”). The Act is divided into 47 separate Parts comprising 1,300 sections and a further 16 Schedules.
The first few Parts of the Act have come into force as outlined in our first two briefings. The Government has now published its commencement timetable for the remaining provisions, and indeed the bulk, of the Act.
There are three significant dates for the implementation of the rest of the Act: 1 October 2007, 6 April 2008 and 1 October 2008.
